Maybe it is just the new excitement that comes with the start of a new season. . . but I absolutely love this weather!! I love the rain, the cool chill to the air, the falling leaves, the coziness of being at home while the wind howls through the window panes. . . wonderful bliss! I will probably be quite ready for the wamth and freshness of spring come February, but for the moment I am reveling in the season of Fall.Here are some alternatives I found to the traditional "umbrella"

Awwww lucky you! Rain already? It's really funny weather here...keeps looking like rain/snow, but never happens...they have these winds that sweep everything away called "chinooks" and leave the sun shining brightly although it's very cold.
I shouldln't complain though! Did you know Calgary is the sunniest place in North America? Interesting fact! So now I'm getting impatient for that "dreaded snow" and keep thinking, "Ok! I'm ready! Bring it on!" LOL! I got the most cutest coat, I'll have to take a pic and show you.
As for the umbrellas...ah....wouldn't be caught dead with any of them! LOL! (Although I've seen people wearing that last one! HAHAHA!!!)
yeahhhhh...that last one is so...not nice. I've seen pictures of people wearing them to sporting events. And...*cough* when I was in band and attended band camp, my band teacher would sport one in the sun.
I think a lovely original umbrella will suffice. =o)

Janell~I don't even want to hear about it!! I just saw your post on your blog about the wonderful downpour of snow you just recieved in Calgary. I think I would only enjoy that for a few weeks though. I am glad you are starting to love Canada. . . although I don't want you to fall TOO much in love with it ;-)
Yes, the alternatives to the traditional umbrella aren't really my cup of tea either. I would actually like to get one of those clear plastic umbrella's that the queen uses (in GB) for this fall/winter season. I have seen them for sale on e-bay from GB, but haven't seen them in any stores around the US so far. hummm. . . anyone have any ideas??
